Obituary

Abram Fleeks was born on January 19, 1934, in Paris, Texas, to Hannah Mathews and Marshall Fleeks. He passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in Lewisville, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

Abram resided in Vernon, Texas for many years before moving to Lewisville, Texas to live with his daughter, Rose, so that he could receive more one-on-one care. He was a devoted husband, father and family man who cherished being close to those he loved.

Abram was one of twelve children, having four sisters and seven brothers. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Sarah Doris Council. Together they built a family rooted in love and faith. He was the proud father of two daughters and one son: Rose Fleeks of Lewisville, Texas, Malajah Fleeks of Lewisville, Texas, and Wilma Fleeks of Vernon, Texas, and grandchildren, Billy Earl Johnson Jr. of Lewisville, Texas; Jeremy Jackson of Lewisville, Texas; Yasmine Brooks of Dallas, Texas, and December Fleeks of Lewisville, Texas. Abram also leaves behind a host of beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Abram dedicated 40 years of hard work to Wright Brand Company and later spent seven years working at Tyson. He was known for his strong work ethic, humility, and loyalty.

An avid sports fan, Abram dearly loved the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. He faithfully supported both teams through their highs and lows, but one of the greatest joys of his life was witnessing the Texas Rangers win the World Series in 2023.

If you cry, please let them be happy tears. Abram is where he wanted to be — resting with God and reunited with his best friend in heaven. Anyone blessed enough to know him knows that his heart was full of love.

On behalf of the Fleeks family, we thank you for your kind words, prayers, and the love you have shown during this time.
