Agnes Ruth Kubitz, 97 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Brummett officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Agnes was born Monday, March 29, 1926, in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Albert Schwarz and the late Mary Schur Schwarz Roth. She married Elmer A. Kubitz on March 19, 1944, in Vernon, Texas.  Agnes was a life long resident of Vernon.  She worked at Vernon Manufacturing and Vernon Compress.  She also helped on the family farm. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Agnes is survived by one daughter, Sherry Johnston of Vernon, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Marcia Kubitz of Vernon, Texas, and four grandchildren, Kayla Bryan & husband Bobby of Venus, Texas, Kenneth Kubitz & fiancé Nicole of Georgetown, Texas, Stephanie Johnston & Robert Torres of Midlothian, Texas, and Karen Defoor & husband Jay of Vernon, Texas. Agnes also leaves behind seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Kubitz; one son, Keith Kubitz, one son-in-law, Wayne Johnston; one sister, Mildred Ott, and twin great-great grandchildren, Levi and Amelia Almendariz.

Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
