Alene "Nannie" Duffie, 89 of Vernon, Texas died on Sunday, November 28, 2021, in Vernon, Texas.

Services will be Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Castleberry and Dr. Darrell Monday officiating. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Alene was born Saturday, October 15, 1932 in Chillicothe, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Hampton and the late Alma Williams  Hampton. She married Luel Duffie on November 10, 1951 in Vernon, Texas he preceded her in death April 16, 2012. She worked for Social Security Office in Vernon for many years.  she was also Vernon State Administrative Assistant and she worked at the Herring Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Alene is survived by her son, Larry Duffie of Blanco, TX, daughter, LuAnn Duffie of Vernon, TX, brother, Oscar B. Hampton of Fort Worth, TX. Grandchildren; Timothy Duffie, Callie O'Neal, Courtney Duffie, and Ellie Anne Loos. Eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Dortha Townson, brothers Bill Hampton and Quinton Hampton.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm  at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church or Boys and Girls Club of Vernon.
