Amber Huneycutt, 42, of Vernon, Texas, passed away on March 20, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas surrounded by family.

Amber was born on September 27, 1983, in Vernon, Texas, to David Huneycutt and Brenda McCarty. She grew up surrounded by family and built a life centered on love, laughter, and creativity.

Amber was a devoted mother to her two children, Hannah Lawson and Cody Lawson, who were the light of her life. She was also a loving daughter, sister, and aunt who cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her father, David Huneycutt; her mother, Brenda McCarty; her sister, Skye Gray, and brother-in-law, Garett Gray; her nephew, Granger Gray; her niece, Briar Gray; and her grandparents, Carol Spears and Ray Spears.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, E.B. Huneycutt; her grandmother, Guinola Huneycutt; and her stepfather, Dallas McCarty.

Amber had a vibrant, fun-loving spirit and truly lived life to the fullest. She was always a joy to be around, known for her laughter and the way she could make others smile. She loved to laugh and had a playful side – she especially enjoyed scaring the life out of people and keeping everyone on their toes.

She had a deep passion for the haunted house industry in Vernon, Texas, where she brought excitement and unforgettable experiences to others for sixteen years. She also loved attending conventions and being part of that creative community.

One of her greatest joys was making candles alongside her sister, creating new scents and sharing that passion together.

Amber was also a selfless donor, and through that gift, she was able to help save and improve the lives of others – a final act of kindness that reflects the love she carried throughout her life.

Above all, Amber loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her creativity, and the deep love she had for those closest to her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services will be held April 25, 2026, at 12:00 pm at the VFW on 1401 Commerce St., Vernon, Texas.
