Anita Francine Thomas of Vernon, Texas gained her wings Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Vernon, Texas. Anita was a member of Wood Street Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Wood Street Baptist Church with Pastor Norris Thomas and Pastor Darrell Willie officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Anita was born on September 14, 1966, in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Jack S. Thomas and Francis Hardin Thomas.

Anita loved her family and friends and loved her grandchildren. She loved music and loved to dance and was good at it! She was also a devoted "Cowboys" fan and had a big heart. She was the life of the party!!! Also, she was the best house cleaner in Vernon.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Dominique Thomas Cox, and her son, Cheston Thomas and her grandchildren, Lexie Brown, Jason Cox, Jr., Akeylan Thomas, Emiya Sample, Xavier Thomas, Braylon Nava, Kennedy Thomas, and Chazleigh Thomas. She is also survived by her siblings, Gladys and Gary Thomas, Celestine Young, Robert and Bridget Thomas, Patrick Thomas, and Christopher Thomas, and her partner, Rouena Lafua. She had a number of nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her dad and mom, Jack and Francis Thomas, her partner, Eugene Mangram, Jr., her sister, Diane Blackshire, her Brothers, N.B. Thomas, Stoney Thomas, and Jack Thomas, her grandson, LaJae Cox, her granddaughter, Tamia Thomas, her nephew, Chadwick Thomas, and her brother-in-law, Dewayne Young.

Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wood Street Baptist Church.
