Antonio Hernandez Calderon, Jr., 87 of Vernon, Texas died on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral Mass service will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at  2:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Phil Petta officiating. Interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Antonio was born September 12, 1934 in Maxwell, TX. he was the son of the late Antonio H. Calderon Sr. and the late Cresencia Hernandez Calderon. He married Jesusa  Patlan February 24, 1952 in Martindale, TX., she preceded him in death May 5, 2009. He had been a resident of Vernon since 1959 He was a farmer /laborer. He enjoyed his family, tinkering on things and going to garage sales. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Antonio is survived by his sons, Tony Calderon, III of Branson, MO and David Calderon of Waco, TX, four daughters, Connie Calvillo of Vernon, TX, Mary Scroggins of Vernon, TX, Delores Storms of Texarkana, AR and Mary Lou Rider of Beach Island, SC; 28 grandchildren; 79 great grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son Pedro Calderon, granddaughter Amelia Calderon, grandson Jerry Paul Rider, great granddaughter Addison Bailey, and great grandson Steven Conover.

Rosary will be Sunday January 30, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.
