Barbara K. Keene, 58 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Barbara was born Tuesday, July 6, 1965, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Gary Gene Goforth and Georgia "Nell" Hodgkins Goforth. She married Thomas Scott Keene on August 6, 1993 in Austin, Texas. It was very fitting that she passed away on Mother's Day. She has been a caregiver for her son, Brent, for his entire life. She loved to play Farkle, Phase Ten, Thirty-One, Skip-Bo, and Wahoo. She loved to have Bunco parties at different people's homes. She was known as the best cook ever. She made the best key lime and buttermilk pies and potato salad. She also enjoyed going fishing. Barbara was a very sweet and kind lady which would never harm a soul. She loved her family most of all, and enjoyed hanging out at the house while enjoying the company of her husband.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Scott Keene of the home; two sons, Jason Goforth & wife Amanda of Granbury, Texas and Brent Goforth of Vernon, Texas; her mother, Georgia "Nell" Goforth of Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Terry Goforth & wife Debbie of Electra, Texas, and one sister, Sherri Myers & husband Leonard of Paradise, Texas. Barbara also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by her brother, Brad Goforth on February 23, 2022.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Sullivan Funeral Home from 10:00 am until services begin.

Memorials can be made to The ALS Association, Vernon Boys & Girls Club, or Wilbarger Humane Society.
