Benito Cavazos, Jr., 69 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Benito was born Thursday, April 19, 1956, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was the son of the late Benito Cavazos and the late Florinda Guerrero Cavazos. He married Hilda Valdez on January 26, 1981, in Edinburg, Texas. Benito loved the Lord and was a member of the Hispanic Ministries of Noth West Texas conference and Camp Amigos. He was also a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Benito is survived by his five children, Sylvia Martinez & husband Bobby, Hilda Moreno & husband Ricky, Hector Reyna & wife Christina, Luis Reyna & wife Lena, and Marissa Hernandez & husband Jose. He also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Benito is preceded in death by his wife Hilda Cavazos on April 21, 2024.
