Benny Lee Gaines, 81, of Plano, Texas passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, in Plano, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Thomas officiating.

Benny was born Tuesday, July 11, 1944, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Linsey Gaines and the late Pearl Hampton Gaines. He married Glenda Sue Evans on February 19, 1965, in Clovis, New Mexico. He worked for Lone Star Gas Company. Benny loved to play cards and spend time with his family. He was a member of the Greater Hopewell Assembly of God.

Benny is survived by his wife Glenda Sue "Red" Gaines of the home, his son, Brian Gaines of Plano, Texas, seven grandchildren, Tashanna, Destinee, Linzy, Kayla, Nicholos, Kieren, and Jaden, eight  great grandchildren, Kavvone, Seren, Malik, Kaden, Kyler, Calvyn, Cyntel, and Deshawn, and one great-great grandchild, Analiyah.

Benny is preceded in death by his parents Linsey & Pearl Gaines, his son, Benny Darnell Gaines, his granddaughter, Shana, his brothers, Linzy Gaines, Jr., George Lee Gaines, Robert Lee Gaines, Curtis L. Gaines and Jerry Ray Gaines, and his sisters, Pauline McFarland, Allese Lewis, Pearlese Brown, Fannie Ruth Allen and Hattie Mae Goff.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
