Bertha Jeanette Kieschnick Graf passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. She was born to Willie John Kieschnick, Sr. and Bertha Louise Bodling Kieschnick on March 8, 1934, in Vernon, Texas. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Lockett High School in 1951. Jeanette married H. Charles Graf on December 18, 1951.

Jeanette, or Aunt Nettie as her Kieschnick family knew her, was a top-notch homemaker and had a true talent for decorating, yard beautification, cooking, fashion, and running a tight ship. She sewed everything from her daughters' clothes to pillow covers for their patio benches, and she always cooked from scratch. Taking a "bought dessert" to a loved one was unfathomable in her mind. The Domino Club that lasted over 40 years, was one of her most cherished memories. She knew what dominoes you held in your hand before you did but more than anything she loved the camaraderie. She was an active Wilbarger County 4-H adult leader, Sunday School teacher, and youth leader at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Vernon. She held every office with St. Paul Lutheran Evening Guild, and she loved attending LWML (Lutheran Women Missionary League) events.

She was natural at making friends whether she was sitting in a doctor's waiting room or the time her and Charlie helped a couple of strangers on Highway 287 as Charlie and Jeanette witnessed the travelers' washing machine fall off the back of their pickup. Before the evening was over, they were all sitting at Lupe's Restaurant laughing and enjoying a meal together as if they had been friends their entire life. Jeanette was Charlie's sidekick on the pig farm, and they overcame a lot of obstacles including droughts, hail-outs and the 1979 tornado. Together and with the Lord's help they always persevered. A favorite pastime of theirs was birdwatching and keeping a beautiful yard. Jeanette dearly loved her grandkids, she loved life, and she loved Kit Kats.

She is survived by her son David Graf and wife Lisa, of Iowa Park; daughter Becky Brown and husband Robert, of Brenham; daughter Nancy Adams and husband Rex, of Devol, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Regan Don Juan and husband Ernesto of Saltillo; Brady Graf and wife Aubri of Lubbock; Sarah Trachsel and husband Che of Denton; Rebecca Burris and husband Michael of Denton; Ashley Nelius and husband Travis of Round Top; Rachel Sheehy and husband Adam of Carrolton, Rodney Adams and wife Emily of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Britni Adams of Dallas. She has 22 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Wiederanders of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ruthie Woelfel of Bryan, Texas, a host of nieces and nephews, and many friends that qualify as family.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Graf; parents, Willie and Bertha Kieschnick; and siblings Agnes Gfeller Albrandt, Alice Kaestner, Freida Schoppa, Edward Kieschnick, Louis Kieschnick, Robert Kieschnick, Walter Kieschnick, Wilbert Kieschnick, Willie Kieschnick, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Vernon on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 10:00 am.
