Bettie Mae Ruark, 85 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Bettie was born Sunday, December 10, 1939, in Bloxom, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Noah D. Taylor and the late Fannie Mae Taylor. She retired from the Food Service Department at Vernon State Hospital. She was a member of TOPS, Happy Huggers, and Faith United Methodist Church.

Bettie is survived by two sons, David Clay Ruark of Wichita, Kansas and Sean Ruark of Vernon, Texas and six grandchildren, Jessica Russell, Jackie Marsh, Edward Taylor, Jr., Deon Clay, Hillary Rushing, and Autum Fulford. Bettie also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren.

Bettie is preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita Weaver, her son, Edward Bryan Taylor, Sr., and her grandson, Jason Weaver.
