Betty Pate, 78 of Vernon, Texas died on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at the Family's cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Steven Brummett. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Betty was born Thursday, October 14, 1943 in Pawnee, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Amado Flores and the late Leanara Leal Flores. She married Charles Pate on December 5, 1975 in Harrold, Texas.  She worked at the laundry mat at the Y, United Supermarket, and Pants Factory.  She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Betty is survived by her husband Charles Pate of the home. Two daughters, Deborah Southern of Cache, OK and Diane King of Lawton, OK; Three brothers, Jim Alaniz, Vidal Alanez and Rudy Alaniz; Four sisters, Eleanor Nelson, Emma Wysong, Sylvia Bqurgeois, and Anita Aguirre; Five grandchildren, Tina Bublitz, Brandon Arnold, Patrick Southern, Megan Wheeler, and Brandon King and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Tony Hill, and a brother, Amado Alaniz, Jr.

Visitation will be Monday, October 17, 2022 at 1:00pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
