Beverly Jean Harp Tyler, 75 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Vernon, Texas after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be held Monday September 30, 2024, at 10:00am at the Chillicothe Cemetery in Chillicothe, Texas with Rev. Toby Castleberry officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Beverly was born in Lubbock, Texas on Friday March 18, 1949. She lived there with her parents and sister until they moved their family home to Hale Center, TX. Later in life, Beverly fell in love with Mike Tyler, of Odell. They were married on August 1, 1981. Finally, they moved to Vernon, TX. to make their home. Their marriage lasted for 42 years.
Beverly was a homemaker and loved primitive antiques! She and Mike always had some kind of project underway and the two of them took an ordinary house and made it their own. Beverly belonged to the Red Hat Ladies' group for a time. She loved attending church with Mike, her sister, and their precious friends. She loved her Pastor, Toby Castleberry, of Calvary Baptist Church, in Vernon, TX.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Charlene Harp of Hale Center, Texas, and her beloved grandmother Olga Higginbotham, of Abernathy, Texas.
She leaves behind many cherished family members: her husband Mike Tyler, of Vernon, her daughter Stacey Martinez and husband Eric of Hale Center, TX. Her sister, Joanna Lynch, also of Vernon, her grandchildren, Audriana Rodriguez and her husband Omar, of Amarillo, Seth Martinez, also of Amarillo, her dearest great-granddaughter Renee, along with her niece, Melody Schulte, of Comanche, Mark Nivens, of Fort Worth, and Mickey Nivens, of Weatherford. There were many great-nieces and great-nephews that Aunt Beverly loved as well. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed so much receiving news from each of them.
A visitation will be held Sunday September 29, 2024, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
