Billie Jo Talbot, 88 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Toby Castleberry officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at Newman Cemetery in Fisher County, Texas under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Billie Joe Talbot was born to John and Mary Forbes on December, 10, 1934 in Peeltown, Texas. Her siblings were Eugene, Barbara, William Jr., Jimmy and Geneva Forbes. She graduated Sweetwater High School in 1952 while living in the small community of Longworth, TX.

On June 30, 1953 she married Glen Olen Talbot in Longworth Texas. She then received her cosmetology license and worked as a beauty operator in Sweetwater Texas. During this time, she gave birth to two sons, Billy Glen Talbot in 1955 and Tracy Lee Talbot in 1958. In 1964 Glen who worked for Texaco was transferred to Graham, Texas. Billie and Glen started their first shoe store in Graham in 1965 with Billie taking care of the daily operations. The following year stores were put in at Iowa Park and Vernon Texas. The family moved to Vernon in 1967 and Billie operated the operations at the Vernon store. Through the years her and Glen owned and operated 10 shoe stores across north and West Texas. Years later the last Talbot Shoe company store was closed and Billie retired in 2011. Billie and her family joined Calvary Baptist Church in 1968 and she remained a devoted member until her demise.

She is survived by Sister Geneva & Mike Ward of Amarillo, Brother Jimmy & Pat Forbes of Baird Texas. Son Billy and Carolyn Talbot of Vernon, Tracy & Cathy of Graham Texas. Five Grand Children, ten Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
