Billy Wayne Stowers, 71 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. 

Billy was born Wednesday, September 15, 1954, in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Walter Stowers and the late Frances House Stowers. He married Janie Stewart on September 6, 1975, in Quanah, Texas. Billy was a dedicated employee of Wright Brand Foods and Tyson Foods for thirty years working as a truck driver. He enjoyed collecting cigarette lighters and model cars. He also enjoyed driving around in his yellow 1956 Mercury pickup truck. He was the best at telling stories and jokes. Billy was very generous, and he was a great father. 

Billy is survived by his wife of fifty years, Janie Stowers, his son, Charles Stowers & wife Amanda, and his brother, Mike Stowers & wife Teresa all of Vernon, Texas. Billy also leaves behind his dogs, Zoey, Juno, Jake and Rusty. 

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Frances Stowers, and his brother, Robert Stowers.
