August 24, 1959, marked the beginning of Brenda K. Minarik's extraordinary life. Her passing on December 22, 2024, at 11:20, leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness.

Brenda came from a colonial American and pioneering Texan family that settled in Red River County in the early 1800s. Brenda was the great granddaughter of Franz Joseph "J. Frank" and Amelia Minarik early Pioneers of Vernon and Wilbarger County. J. Fank Minarik cattleman and rancher owned large amounts of acreage in his beloved Texas and founded Minarik and Sons which was well known as a fine groceries and meat market for high-end foods. Brenda is the granddaughter of the late John and Nannie Minarik and the daughter of the late Jack Minarik who with his fellow firemen kept Vernon safe. Brenda was an artist, a lover of music, and animals and leaves behind three precious cats, Pepperoni, August and Taylor Swift named after her favorite musician.

Brenda's professional journey led her to the Hillcrest Country Club, where she formed lasting bonds with her friends. Her early twenties saw her move to Dallas, where she built a large, loving family. For thirty years, her life in Dallas was filled with joy, loyalty, and generosity, as she rescued countless cats in need. Brenda returned to Vernon in 2017 to care for her ailing father, and after his passing, she remained, surrounded by her friends. Those who were blessed to share thirty-plus years with her witnessed firsthand her extraordinary spirit. Brenda embodied the true essence of altruism, always putting others before herself. Her unwavering dedication to the downtrodden, the helpless, and her beloved fur babies inspired countless lives.

Brenda leaves behind two families: her large, loving family in Dallas, Texas, and her cherished fur babies. She is also survived by her godson, Evan Thomas Weidman May, and her extended family from Sue Ellen's and Jack's Backyard. She is survived by her cousins, Jerre Lynn Vanier of Scottsdale, Susan Davenport of Mesa, and Glenna Agno of Grove, her great-cousins, Jared Kent Wick of Pasadena, Jolie Jacqueline Vanier of Studio City, and Christian Lawrence Wick of Pasadena.

Viewing will be available starting Friday, December 27, 2024, until Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Sullivan Funeral Home.
