Buddy Lee Grant, 70, of Vernon, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on March 28, 2026, while sleeping.
Graveside services will be held Thursday April 2, 2006, at 1:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah, Texas under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon, Texas.
Pastor Joe Martin and his wife Sarah from Stamford, Texas will official the burial.
Pall Bearers are grandson, Christopher Grant, brothers John Grant, Kenneth Grant, Charles Grant, Rodney Grant and Randy Grant.
Buddy was born on Sunday, January 29, 1956, in Paducah, Texas to the late Kenneth Herschel Grant and Emma Jean Underwood Grant.
Buddy was a Christian man and was a member of the Missionary Baptist church in Paducah, Texas as a young man.
As a boy, Buddy loved any sport that included a ball. He really had no preference, although football was a priority in his entertainment. He loved growing up on a farm and held many childhood memories close. He loved old movies, especially Gunsmoke and westerns. He was a fan of Sci-Fi movies and loved Elvis above all entertainers. He enjoyed working in his yard and being with his puppy companions. He was a man of deep thought and could find solace there. Buddy was a kind and gentle soul, giving of nature and loving at heart. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Buddy graduated from Paducah High School in 1975. He was a proud Dragon and kept up with how the teams were doing each season. He enjoyed reading, loved his family and his many friends he had accumulated throughout his life. He was a paint contractor with Grant Painting Service in Vernon, Texas until the day of his passing.
Buddy is survived by three sons, Eddie Grant of Vernon, Texas, Joseph Grant of Vernon, Texas and Jonathan Grant of Austin, Texas, and one stepdaughter, Candye Owens and husband Neal of Austin, Texas. He is survived by five brothers, John Grant and wife Cynthia of Vernon, Texas, Kenneth Grant and wife Mary of Childress, Texas, Charles Grant and wife Timberly of Paducah, Texas, Rodney Grant of Paducah, Texas, Randy Grant and wife Nina of Paducah, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters, Linda McGough and husband Tim of Granite, Oklahoma and Cindy Melton and husband Gordon of Paducah, Texas.
Buddy leaves behind five grandchildren, Christopher Grant, Zaree Levell, Bryce Sunday, Harlie Sunday and Austin Hall, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Hershell Grant and Emma Jean Underwood Grant, a sister, Brenda Arnn, brother in law Joseph Dillon, nieces Brynlee Hampton and Timye Grant, and his children's mother, Bobbye Mooney.
After the graveside service, the family and friends are invited to luncheon with the family at the Paducah Community Center in Paducah, Texas.
