Obituary

Charles "Punkin" Hallmark, 85 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10:00 am at Electra Cemetery in Electra, Texas under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Ric Rosalez officiating.

Punkin was born Friday, February 10, 1939, in Kermit, Texas. He was the son of the late Raymond Hallmark and the late Lois Stone Hallmark. He married Joy Chambers on September 27, 1960 in Andrews, Texas. Joy passed away August 6, 2019. Punkin worked for thirty plus years for Amerada Hess as a pumper/roustabout. He was a member of Western Trail Cowboy Church.

Punkin is survived by one son, Charles "Pooh" Hallmark & wife Tammie of Vernon, Texas; one daughter, Penny Lewis of Vernon, Texas, and one sister, Rose Mary Duren of Electra, Texas. Punkin also leaves behind four grandchildren, Gary Michel Booth, Haley Hallmark, Charles Allen Booth, and Holly Matthews, and eight great grandchildren.

Punkin is preceded in death by his wife, Joy, one brother, Raul Begley, and one sister, Deaun Borton.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to Beyond Faith Hospice or Vernon Boys & Girls Club.
