Charles T. "Paw Paw" Lynn, 90 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Mrs. Sarah Hernandez and Mr. Ryan Lynn officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Charles was born Wednesday, November 28, 1934, in Chillicothe, Texas. He was the son of the late Griff W. Lynn and the late Martha M. Bohot Lynn. He married Marion Owen on March 28, 1975, in Mangum, Oklahoma. He was in the U.S. Army from August of 1952 through July of 1955. He served in the Korean War. He worked in road construction as a finish blade operator working all over the state of Texas and Wilbarger County. He was a Chili Cook-Off Champion, and he was a member and officer of the Wilbarger County Coin Collectors. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family at Eagle Flats Village where he resided for the past seven years. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Charles is survived by one son, Wayne Lynn & wife Stacy of Paducah, Texas; three daughters, Sharon Lynn of Vernon, Texas, Cathy Alexander of Arlington, Tennessee and Carolyn Miller of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; one stepson, Dan Halford & wife Stacy of Vernon, Texas and three stepdaughters, Linda Byers & husband Ronny of Waurika, Oklahoma, Beth Shivers & husband Danny of Vernon, Texas, and Donna Wessel & husband Philip of Orlando, Florida. Charles also leaves behind two sisters, Grace McLaughlin and Jerry Lou Schmoker both of Vernon, Texas and nineteen grandchildren and thirty six great grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife of forty seven years, Marion Lynn in 2021, his daughter, Lou Anne Lynn, his sister, Dorothy Halford, his brother, George Lynn, and two great grandsons, Rhett Sullivan and Justin Lock.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the Rhett Sullivan Foundation or Vernon Boys & Girls Club .
