Obituary

Charles E. Taylor, 86 of Chillicothe, Texas passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, in Chillicothe, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Chillicothe Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Ric Rosalez officiating.

Charles was born Sunday, September 5, 1937, in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He was the son of the late Joseph Carl Taylor and the late Mary Berten Taylor. He married Francis Sanders on November 1, 1958. Francis passed away November 29, 2000. He married Martha Love on March 2, 2012. Martha passed away on June 20, 2017. Charles served in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He was a County Commissioner for Hardeman County. He was a farmer and mechanic. He was also the owner and operator of Taylor Café in Chillicothe. He also served on the Chillicothe Cemetery Board, and he was a member of First Methodist Church in Chillicothe.

Charles is survived by four sons, Tommy Taylor & wife Lora of Weatherford, Texas, Ricky Taylor & wife Norma of Vernon, Texas, Richard Taylor & wife Teresa of Chillicothe, Texas, and Billy Taylor & wife Tissha of Vernon, Texas, and two sisters, Linda Mace & husband Joe of Saint Joseph, Missouri, and Judy Jacobs  of Saint Joseph, Missouri. Charles also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Charles is preceded in death by his son, Ernest Taylor on January 12, 2022, and three sisters, Mary Gibbs, JoAnn Bowler and Dottie Graves.
