Charlotte Jane "Janie" Boykin, 79 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Mr. Joe Dale Wilson officiating.

Janie was born Saturday, April 24, 1943 in San Angelo, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Charles Brooks and the late Leah Lee Brooks. She married Raymon Boykin June 22, 1968 in San Angelo, Texas.  Raymon passed away April, 10, 2018.  Janie was a member of Wilbarger Street Church of Christ where she taught a women's bible study class. She is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and Texas Women's University. Janie was a speech therapist for fifteen years, and then taught second grade for another fifteen years.

Janie is survived by two sons, Randy Boykin of Dallas, Texas and Jon Mark Boykin & wife Sondra Stewart Boykin of Lawton, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shelley Boykin Greer & husband Russell of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Dr. Larry Brooks of Junction, Texas; one sister-in-law, Rita Boykin of Texas City, Texas; one grandson, Brice Boykin; one great granddaughter, Heavenly Boykin. Janie also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Janie is preceded in death by her brother, Lynn Brooks and her bother-in-law, Doyle Boykin.

Visitation will be Monday, March 13, 2023 at Sullivan Funeral Home at 10:00 am until graveside services begin.
