Chris Duane Carlton, 62, passed away on May 10, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.

Chris was born on Monday, November 12, 1962, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Richard Keith Carlton, and Carolyn Bell Flores. He graduated from Vernon High School in 1980. He was a beloved mechanic, and devoted father.

Chris is survived by his mother Carolyn, of Plano, Texas. Two daughters; Sarah Minor, and husband Shane, of Vernon, Texas. Miranda Carlton, and husband Jordan Thompson, of Tyler, Texas. One brother; Kevin Flores, of Plano, Texas. Six grandchildren; Daphnie Sosa, Matthew Sosa, Kaison McCurdy, Leah Minor, Cameron Minor, and Korvette McCray, as well as his beloved pitbull Waylon. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by his son, Michael McCurdy; his father, Keith; his stepfather, Rick Flores; his sister, Kelly Stone; and his brother, Brent Flores.

Chris will forever be known for his sense of humor, his huge love for animals, guns, and rock and roll.
