Christy Ann
Nava
Jul 3, 1971 — Dec 22, 2024
Christy Ann Nava, 53 passed away on Sunday December 22,2024, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday December 28, 2024, at 11:00am at First Methodist Church with Rev. Anthony Inman officiating. Burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Christy was born on Saturday July 3, 1971, in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Bobby (Bob) Gene Imel and the late Iantha Gearld Imel. Christy graduated from Megargel High School in 1991. She also attended John Casablanca's modeling agency. She married Mitchell Nava on May 14, 1994, in Vernon, Texas. Christy worked for many years for Sullivan Funeral Home and First Methodist Church. Christy and her daughter Cheyanne opened CMC Decor in 2021. She later opened a sandwich shop in CMC, it was a thriving business. When Christy got sick, the family decided it was for the best to close the shop. It did not take Christy long to realize she still wanted to continue serving Vernon through her cooking, so she and Cheyanne opened a sandwich trailer Witches On Wheels. Unfortunately, Christy got sick again and could not continue her passion; Christy was always the first to help anyone out that needed it. She always worried about her family and wanted to make sure they were ok. She was the pillar of her family and the best nana to Maci.
Christy is survived by her husband of thirty years Mitchell Nava, one daughter Cheyanne Nava and one granddaughter Maci Elizabeth Nava. Christy also leaves behind two brothers Bobby Imel and Jerry Don Imel. Along with a host of nieces, nephews' cousins and family.
Christy is preceded in death by her parents Bob and Iantha Imel, two grandchildren Adrian Michael Pierce and Paytlynn Nikole Pierce and one nephew Bobby Earl Imel, Jr.
