Claude Dean Sellers, 79 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday August 15, 2023 at 10:00am at the Western Trail Cowboy Church with Rev. Luke Morrison and Crit Caton officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Claude was born Saturday, December 18, 1943 in Crowell, Texas to the late Claude Sellers and the late Linda Sue Parkhill Sellers. Claude married Karen Heard on January 11, 1992 in Oklaunion Texas. Claude began his career working as a construction worker  in the Amarillo and Seminole area, he then became a highway patrol for the Texas Department of Public Safety. In later years he worked for the Vernon State Hospital as a Procurement Officer, he also worked for the Herring Bank as a farm and equipment appraiser. After retiring Claude enjoyed working with his cattle and horses. Claude and his family were members of Western Trail Cowboy Church.

Claude is survived by his wife of the home, Karen Heard Sellers, two sons, Mark Sellers of Amarillo, TX and Kevin Smith of Plano, TX, two daughters, Carrie Caton of Artesia, NM and Kristin Rodgers of Weatherford, TX, along with a brother, Kenneth Sellers of Mansfield, TX. Claude also leaves behind six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Claude is proceeded in death by his parents Claude and Linda Sellers and two sisters Mary Ruth Ostrander and Geneva Blanche Narron.

Visitation will be held Monday from 6-7pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
