Corey Dale Samson Jr., a loving husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on November 5, 2023. He was born on April 14, 1990, in Odessa, Texas and raised in Fargo, Texas.

Corey was known for his larger-than-life personality and his ability to form meaningful connections with everyone he met. Throughout his life, he embraced a wide range of hobbies and interests including golfing, hunting, fishing, football, bull riding, and embarking on thrilling adventures. In 2006, Corey showcased his exceptional talent as an athlete when he and two of his brothers led his high school football team to victory in the state championship. He played a pivotal role as an all-state spread back and brought immense pride to his school. After graduating from high school, he continued his pursuit of knowledge at West Texas A&M University.

Following his educational journey, in 2012, Corey began working alongside his father to build a plant in Brownsville, Texas, from the ground up. Their collaboration epitomized dedication and skill as they fashioned an enduring structure that would leave a lasting impact on the community. Corey ventured out to become a turnaround coordination specialist, assisting various companies across the country. His expertise and commitment made him indispensable in this field as he consistently achieved remarkable results.

Corey is preceded in death by his father, Corey Dale Samson Sr.; his grandparents, Micky & Sandra Ming, and Robert & Deanie Dickerson, and his uncle, Michael Ming.

Among those left to cherish Corey's memory are his wife: Janette Samson; one daughter, Presley Ann Samson; one son, Kasen Michael Samson; his parents, Susan & Bubba Anders and David & Jessie Dickerson; nine siblings, Justin Acosta & wife Tifani, Koby Dickerson & wife Kayla, Destiny Brooks & husband Jonathan, Cody Dickerson & wife Tabitha, Heather Dickerson, Tiffany Dickerson, Courtney Dickerson, Kelsie Leija, & husband Brandon, and Josh Holcomb; his grandmother, Sharan Davis, and two uncles, Shane and Charlie Samson. Corey also leaves behind seventeen nieces and nephews, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and many, many friends.

To honor Corey's life and mourn his passing, a rosary will take place on November 9, 2023, at 10:00 am with a funeral service following at 11:00 am at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. On Saturday, November 11, 2023, a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church in Vernon, Texas with Mr. Layne Chapman officiating.  Burial will follow at Fargo Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home in Vernon, Texas. These services serve as an opportunity for friends, family, and loved ones to come together, reflect on Corey's time on Earth, and find solace in one another's embrace.

Corey Dale Samson Jr. will be remembered as a man of remarkable talent and unfaltering compassion. As we bid farewell to Corey, let us celebrate his life, cherishing the memories he created with us and finding comfort knowing his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
