Cynthia "Cindy" Louise
Thompson
Oct 24, 1943 — Jul 12, 2026
Cynthia (Cindy) Louise Thompson, 82, beloved wife, mother of two, grandmother of 10, and great-grandmother of 2, passed from this life and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Searcy, Arkansas.
The firstborn daughter of Daniel H. Klein and Viola A. Cartwright Klein, Cindy was born on October 24, 1943, in Vernon, Texas. She and her four siblings grew up on the family’s dairy farm in Bridgewater, Michigan.
Cindy worked for the University of Michigan before moving to Vernon, Texas, where she married Jerrel Ray Thompson on June 20, 1964. Together, they had two children. She and Jerrel were faithful members of the Paradise Street and Wilbarger Street Churches of Christ, and she took great joy in teaching Sunday School and serving others in her church in any way she could. She and Jerrel then lived and worked on ranches in the Texas Panhandle, and again, faithfully attended the churches in Stinnett, Borger, and Gruver, Texas. In their later years, they retired to Searcy, Arkansas to live close to their daughter and her family.
Cindy loved her family fiercely and delighted exceedingly in watching how the Lord multiplied them. She had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ for her salvation and thanked her heavenly Father for every good gift she received. Even through her last days Cindy’s joy was not encumbered, for she had the blessed assurance that her faith in Christ would soon be made sight.
Cindy is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Jerrel Thompson; her son, Jeff (Tami) Thompson; her daughter, Jennifer (Mike) McGalliard; ten grandchildren, Alex McGalliard, Henry (Julie) McGalliard, John-Luke (Hope) McGalliard, Endy McGalliard, James McGalliard, Rose McGalliard, Zak McGalliard, Zoe Thompson (Dawson) Roso, Sam Thompson, and Poppy Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Phoebe McGalliard and Theodore Roso; her sister, Kathy Keebaugh, and brothers Rueben Klein and Randy Klein, and nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel H. Klein and Viola Agnes Cartwright Klein, and brother, Daniel “Bo” Klein.
