Dan Richardson Jr, age 61, passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2024, in Denton, Texas.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 23, 2024, at 12 noon, at First Methodist Church, with Rev. Norris Thomas and Rev. Willie King officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Dan was born on August 24, 1963, to parents Dan Richardson Sr. and Vera Scott Richardson. He attended school in Vernon Texas, where he resided his entire life. He was a businessman who had several businesses including Payless Auto Sales, Richardson Lawn Service, Richardson Bail Bonds and several rental properties and real estate in Vernon, TX. He was a member of Wood Street Baptist Church. Dan was married for 33 years to Cathy Sparkman. He enjoyed the word of God. Spending time with his family, kids, and grandchildren, and going fishing and playing poker. He was inspired by the late Dr. Myles Munroe in ministry. Dan was a man of great faith and wisdom. He loved serving his community and sharing the gospel with people from all walks of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Vera Richardson, two brothers, Juan Keith Cherry, and George Cherry and two sisters, Revell Christian and Linda Houghes, and two nieces, Diedra Cherry Owens, and Marshane Cherry.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Richardson, children, Kendra Richardson Hall (Edward Antwain Hall), Starlynn Richardson Lee, Dan Richardson III, (Jasmine Richardson) and Danielle Cleaver. Sisters, Cassandra Cherry, Von Daniels, Angelita Daniels, Vilasta Richardson, Patricia Richardson and Barbara Dennis. Brothers, Edward Cherry, Donald Richardson, and Richard Cherry. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Esra Hall, Edward Hall. Eastyn Hall, Kennedi Lee, Kamry Lee, Edward Lee, Tamira Brokaw & Desmond Dudley, Jr. along with a host of nieces and nephews.
