Phillip Dan Russell, 80, of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 10:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luke Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery.

Dan was born March 4, 1944, in Vernon, Texas to the late George Wilburn Russell and the late Annie Margaret Alexander Russell. He married Linda Gail Mitchell on December 12, 1964, in Vernon, Texas. Dan worked as a butcher for Joe's Food Store, United Supermarket, and Piggly Wiggly in Dallas. He was a member of First Methodist Church.

Dan is survived by two sons, Phillip Dan Russell, Jr. of Vernon, Texas and Andrew G. Russell of El Dorado, Arkansas, and one daughter, Melinda Russell of Vernon, Texas. Dan also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Geoffrey Sweet, Joshua Sweet, Cody Russell, Brandon Russell, Lacy Russell, Tracy Russell, and Casey Russell.

Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Russell and two brother, Edward C. Russell and Roger A. Russell.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
