Dana Ann Barton, 70 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 3330 Maiden St. in Vernon, Texas.

Dana was born Monday, September 29, 1952 in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Gipson Franklin Hemphill and the late Floy Marie Huntley Hemphill. She married Larry Barton on May 8, 1987 in Altus, Oklahoma. Dana was a Special Education Teacher for Vernon ISD. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

Dana is survived by her husband, Larry Barton of the home; one son, Drew Hardy & wife Amanda of Vernon, TX; four daughters, Merideth Garcia & husband William of La Crosse, WI, Erin Hearon & Husband Jeff of Colorado Springs, CO, Blair Rhodes & husband Brandon of San Marcos, TX, and Lesliee Hanks & husband Darin of Gainesville, TX; one brother, Michael Hemphill of Savannah, GA, and one sister, Mary Beth Parker of Mobile, AL. Dana also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, Merlin Garcia, Genevieve Garcia, Evan Hearon, Julian Hearon, Mahala Hardy, Malachi Hardy, Awbrey Hardy, Myah Hardy, Belle Rhodes, Briar Rhodes, Bonny Rhodes, Kelsee Hanks, Morgen Hanks, and Bryen Hanks.
