Danny Curtis Bivins, 79 of Vernon, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Chillicothe Cemetery in Chillicothe, Texas, under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Chapman officiating.

Danny was born Saturday, October 28, 1944, in Clarksville, Texas. He was the son of the late Curtis Bivins and the late Myrtle Palmer Bivins. He married Brenda Gilbert on April 5, 1993 in Vernon, Texas. He was in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. After the army he worked for Santa Fe/Burlington Railroad. After retiring, Danny worked security at Tyson Foods. He was a Baptist.

Danny is survived by his wife, Brenda Bivins of the home; one daughter, Danni Jean Bivins; two step-sons, Chane Rockholt and Franklin Rockholt both of Amarillo, Texas; three brothers, Ricky Bivins of Quanah, Texas, Sammy Bivins of Chillicothe, Texas, and Johnny Bivins of Dalhart, Texas, and one sister, Peggy Haynes of Vernon, Texas. Danny also leaves behind six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Danny is preceded in death by two brothers, Doug & Thomas, and two sisters, Christine & Theola.

Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
