David Lynn Hughes, 75, passed away on October 26, 2024, in Denton, Texas. Born on January 12, 1949, David graduated from Vernon High School in 1967 and later attended Texas Tech University. He proudly served in the Army and Texas National Guard, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to his country.

David was the beloved owner of Hughes Western Wear, where he was known as the best salesman one could ever meet. His charismatic personality and bright smile made him a favorite in the community and to all who met him.

A man of many interests, David enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, singing and playing his guitar. His love for life and engaging personality meant he never met a stranger and always lit up any room he entered.

David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Hughes; sister Sandra Simmons, his children, Robert Eggleston, Jeff Hughes and wife Jennifer, Jason Hughes and wife Jennifer, and Jennifer Keller and husband Robert. He was a cherished grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Alexis, Caleb, Savannah, Coby, Austin, Kennedy, Landry, Colton, Hailey, Kaitlin, and Julian, and great-grandfather to Adakis and Ari. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Daisy Hughes, and his sisters, Lynda and LaDonna.

A service to honor David's life will be held on Friday, November 1st at 3:00 pm at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 2:00 pm. His legacy of love, laughter, and community will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him
