Deborah Jones, of Coppell, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery.

Deborah was born on October 15, 1952 in Vernon, Texas, to Doris and Cordell Jones. She was the second eldest child of four. She was raised in Vernon and graduated from Vernon High School in 1971.

Deborah had an amazing singing voice, participating in choir and related activities in school. She had numerous opportunities to pursue a professional career in singing. Her parents valued education above all else and persuaded her to attend college, first.

Following graduation, in 1971, she moved to Denton, Texas and entered North Texas State University as a freshman. After leaving North Texas in 1974, she made the decision to apply to American Airlines Flight Attendant School and was accepted in January of 1975. She was based in Chicago, LA and Dallas.

Early on with American Airlines, she was spotted walking down the hall and asked to pose for a full page ad for American Airlines in the LA Times. A beautiful girl in an amazing ad for American Airlines!

During her career, she was an exemplary flight attendant and rose through the ranks to become the purser on international flights. Even though she was offered promotions which would eliminate flying, she refused them, being the happiest in the air.

Even though Deb was a full time employee with American Airlines, she seemed to always be involved with multi-level marketing. She was an extraordinary salesman! She had a golden touch. Her most success was in Lumen Nails, a luxury gel nail product company. Her accomplishments with this company prompted them to gift her with a brand new Mercedes- Benz convertible.

Deb was dynamic in every way. A personality which was bigger than life! She saw the world through a lens of compassion and generosity. Her heart had no end with people she knew. She was fearless when it came to actions where she saw value.

She loved people! If she met you in a grocery store, in a restaurant or at a party, she wanted to know you. She would take the time to talk to you and share anything she thought would connect you. She never forgot you. She considered you her friend. Every time she saw you, she embraced you and took the time to visit.

Deb had a house fire in which she had severe burns with a long recovery after numerous surgeries and treatments. After 47 years, she was forced to retire early from American Airlines. This was a difficult decision because she loved her job but understood the physical challenges it would require.

After restoring her house, she decided to adopt a rescue dog. She had no children and no pets. She had never felt that she could give a dog enough of her time with the demand of her flight schedule until now. She named her little dog, Sophie. The joy she found with Sophie was immeasurable!

Deborah leaves behind one sister, Cindy Kroeger (John) of San Antonio, and one brother, Mark Jones (Janet) of White City, OR and five nieces and nephews, Trey Holder (Jamie) of San Antonio, TX, Beret Kroeger of Vail, CO, John Henry Kroeger (Chelsea) of Denver, CO, Jordan Jones of Austin, TX and Tara Reed of Corpus Christi, TX along with 7 great nieces and nephews, Kyla Holder, Zoe Holder, Canon Holder of San Antonio, TX, Cash Kroeger and Miller Kroeger of Denver, CO, Caleb Reed and Hanna Reed of Corpus Christi, TX.

Deb is survived by her aunt, Lana Dyer Adams of Vernon, TX and four cousins, Karla Hendrix, Jana (Lyn) Bohannon and Michelle (Ken) Brock of Vernon, Tx and Randy (Debbie). Halencak of Electra, TX, along with a host of cousins and friends.

Deborah is preceded in death by her mother and father, Doris and Cordell Jones, and her youngest brother, Daniel Corey Jones. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oran C. and Ethel Lenora Lane Dyer as well as her aunt and uncle, Avinell Dyer and Wayne Hendrix and her aunt, Ida Lou Dyer Halencak all of Vernon, Tx as well as one cousin, Steve Halencak of Electra, TX.

Memorials may be made to a Humane Society of choice.
