Frankie Dewayne Nail, 69 of Vernon, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Wilbarger County Auditorium.

Dewayne was born Tuesday, December 8, 1953, in Levelland, Texas. He was the son of the late Tom Nail and the late Agnes Stephens Nail. He married Sandra Barry in 1971, in Vernon, Texas. Dewayne was a retired plant manager for OK Concrete in Childress, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He made friends easily and was always a jokester.  Dewayne was loved by many.

Dewayne is survived by his wife, Sandra Nail of the home; one son, Brandon Nail & wife Katie of Vernon, Texas; one daughter, Dusty Conn & husband Roger of Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Glen Nail, and four sisters, Janice Doty, Jo Dunn, Theresa Barnard and Billie Sue Hall. Dewayne also leaves behind eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Nail in 2022; two brothers, Tom Nail and David Sexton, and two sisters, Lavera Harper and Bobbie Conners.

Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and the National Kidney Foundation.
