Edward James Kubicek, 75 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Edward was born Friday, March 4, 1949, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Robert F. Kubicek and the late Lillie Jokel Kubicek. He married Edith Schumann on September 30, 1973, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a graduate of Lockett High School where he was an outstanding track athlete. He was a State Champion in the 100-meter dash, the 220, and the 4x100 relay while setting state records in 1967-1968 for both the 4x100 relay and the 220. He was a farmer and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Edward is survived by three sons, Robby Kubicek of Vernon, Texas, Ryan Kubicek of Vernon, Texas and Regan Kubicek of Bethesda, Maryland and two sisters, Janet Daniel of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Linda McVey of Euless, Texas. Edward also leaves behind three grandchildren, Karsyn, Knox, and Emily.

Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Kubicek on October 18, 2017.
