Edward Lee Leija, 42 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Mass services will be held Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:00 am at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church with Father Phil Petta officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Edward was born Thursday, February 25, 1982, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of Lee Leija and Brenda Tobar Leija. Edward graduated from Vernon High School in 2000. He liked music and going to music festivals. He enjoyed watching sports. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, University of Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers, and the San Antonio Spurs. Most of all, Edward loved spending time with his family.

Edward is survived by his parents, Lee & Brenda Leija, and five siblings, Brandon Leija, Monica Leija, Stephen Leija & wife Angel, Timothy Leija & wife Felicia, and Christopher Leija & wife Sayda all of Vernon, Texas. Edward also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Christian, Cherish, Elyza, Brandon, Devin, Makyleigh, Zander, Xaven, Meleah, Marissa, Stephen, Jazlynn, Isiah Lee, Pasiley, Tim Jr., Isiah, Ciara, Gabriel, Christopher, Faithlynn, Ariana, Cruzito, Krishna, and Thydah, and six great nieces and great nephews.

Edward is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elias Leija, Sr., Katie Leija, Rosa Tobar, and Cruz Tobar.

Rosary will be Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.
