Edwin Oliver Goodman, 89 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Aaron Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Mangum, Oklahoma under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Edwin was born Sunday, March 17, 1935 in Vinson, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Adolphus "Doc" Goodman and the late Viola Bogart Goodman. He married Nancy Crow on May 24, 1957, in Mangum, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army, and he retired as a 06 with the U.S. Public Health Service IHS. He was an Environmental Health Specialist with communicable disease control in indigenous populations. He had a great love for his wife, family, and animals. He was baptized at the Church of Christ.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Nancy Goodman of the home; two sons, Kaelin Goodman & wife Cheri of Kettle Falls, Washington and Aaron Goodman & wife Lana of Portales, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Forest Goodman & wife Melissa of Carson City, Nevada, Stephanie Padgett & husband Jared of Lubbock, Texas, Shelby Goodman-Nunnes & husband Andrew of Orcas Island, Washington, and Sophie Goodman of Portales, New Mexico, and one great grandchild, Ranger Padgett of Lubbock, Texas. Edwin also leaves behind his brother, Jerry Goodman & wife Donna of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, Doc & Viola Goodman, his brother, Tom Goodman, and his sister, Louise Fletcher.

Memorials may be given to the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas .

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Sullivan Funeral Home from 9:00 am until funeral services begin.
