Elizabeth Ann Peterson Hargrove passed away on January 18, 2024 at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 23, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Derrell Monday officiating. Burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Elizabeth was born on May 20, 1936 to W.R and Sarah Ellen Vanderweillen Peterson in Shamrock, Texas. Her family moved to Vernon around 1938. She attended school in Vernon and was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Elizabeth married Charles Edward (Ed) Hargrove Jr. on July 3, 1954 in Vernon Texas. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1999. During her lifetime, she spent many years taking care of sick family members and working with her husband in their businesses of hauling hay, aerial crop spraying and repair and maintenance of airplanes. She also worked in retail for many businesses in Vernon as a delivery person for City, Hillcrest and Gibson pharmacy, stocking and opening all four Allsup's, opened and closed Alco both times. She also worked for Vernon Food Store and C & L Pen Co. She retired from Wilbarger County Auditorium.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Vaughn (David) of Vernon. She is also survived by her grandchildren Marsha Cochran (Scott) of Abilene, Texas, Jackie (Tricia) Vaughn and Jada Vaughn, both of Vernon. Surviving her are siblings Joyce Pullin and Roy Peterson, all of Ballinger, Texas. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Wayne Hargrove, siblings Anna Mae Henson, Addlean (Deed) Glass, J.C. Peterson, Marclean Searcy, W.E. Peterson and Elmer Peterson.

Visitation will be Monday January 22, 2024 from 6-7pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
