Etta June Ramsey, 88 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 11:00am, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Derrell Monday and Mr. Mike Klappenbach officiating. Burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Etta was born Thursday, August 30, 1934 at her home in Rock Crossing.  She was the daughter of the late Frank Vaughn and the late Gladys Schaub Vaughn. She married Don Ramsey on December 15, 1951, at the Rock Crossing Baptist Church. They celebrated seventy years of marriage. In Etta's early years she had worked at First Baptist Church as a secretary and a financial secretary. Later Etta worked at R & S Men's Shop, doing alterations and Johnson's Jewelry. Etta and her family were members of First Baptist Church, and she was in the Adult Six Sunday School Class, she played piano for the Sunday School Class and she was also in the church choir.

Etta is survived by her husband Don Ramsey, Two sons, Richard Ramsey and wife Rhonda of Oklaunion, TX and Mark Ramsey and wife Pam of Georgetown, TX, one daughter, Sheila Foerster and husband James of Vernon, TX. Etta also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Etta is preceded in death by one brother King Ferrell Vaughn.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00-7:00pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church.
