After a dutiful life in service of his Lord Farrell Deen Bradshaw, also known to his family as Pa, passed away Monday, February 7 at the age of 89 (and a half) years. Born September 8, 1932 in Weatherford, Oklahoma, he moved to Chillicothe with his family in February of 1938 where he lived throughout the rest of his life. At the time of his death, he was the oldest living male resident in Chillicothe.

F.D., as he was known to many, graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1949 and married his high school sweetheart, Norma Ray (Dolly) Bailey in 1951. They both attended Abilene Christian College.

In 1952, he began his career as a farmer and rancher in Tolbert, a passion and pride of his that has been passed onto future generations. Farrell also worked as a carpenter, building houses in Vernon, Chillicothe, Quanah, and the surrounding areas. In 1970 he bought Farmer's Lumber Company in Chillicothe and ran the business for over 50 years.

A pillar of the community, he worked in the press box for Chillicothe High School football games, running the clock for over 45 years. He was also a member of the Chillicothe Lions Club and the Hospital Board in Chillicothe as well. He was a founding member of the Rolling Farming Heritage Foundation. In his spare time he was an avid photographer and enjoyed taking scenic photos on his trips, as well as showcasing his wife's prized roses and irises. Many of these photos can be found displayed in local businesses in the community.

Most importantly, F.D. dedicated his life in the service of his faith. He was instrumental in the design and construction of the Chillicothe Church of Christ, where he served firstly as a deacon and eventually as an elder.  His faith was evident in the way he lived his life - a legacy that he has passed down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. An incredibly special trait was that he shared his birthday with his son, Steve.

Farrell was preceded in death by his father, Granville (G.E.) Bradshaw and mother, Bessie Bradshaw as well as an infant daughter. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dolly, his son Steve (Cherri) Bradshawof Chillicothe; daughter Jan of Austin, grandchildren Sally (Aaron) Reeves of Vernon, Elly (Gordy) Gonzales of Vernon, Holly (Chad) Cox of Tell, Byron Bradshaw of Austin, Bailey Beaver of Quitman, AR, and Brielle (Jonathan) Beaver-Ou of Austin; and great-grandchildren Tyler, Landry, Taylor, Lavery, Lux, and Colee; brother Glen (Mary Dean) Bradshaw of Wichita Falls; sister Yvonne (Gene) Fulford of Athens; and sister-in-law Glenda (Walt) Cudmore of Chillicothe.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, February 9th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Sullivan Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Texas and services will be Thursday, February 10th at 2:00 pm at the Chillicothe Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be F.D.'s grandsons-in-law: Aaron Reeves, Gordy Gonzales, and Chad Cox; and his great-grandsons: Tyler Reeves, Landry Gonzales, and Lavery Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Green, Wayne Haynes, Mario Guerra, Mario Guerra, Jr., Rick Jump, Jonathan Ou, and Ryan Shoop.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Chillicothe Church of Christ, the Westview Boys' Home in Hollis, Oklahoma or the Tipton Children's Home in Tipton, Oklahoma.
