Faye Standridge, 87, of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in the comfort of her home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Vernon, TX with Dr. Derrell Monday and Mr. Mike Klappenbach officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Faye was born Friday, November 29, 1935 in Paducah, Texas to the late Jess and Myrtle Elmore Latham. She married Harvey Rose on November 9, 1952 in Paducah, Texas. Harvey passed away in 1987. She married James "Furr" Standridge on July 16, 1988 in Vernon, Texas. Furr preceded her in death on April 12, 2017. Faye came to Vernon in 1978 from Guthrie, Texas. She retired from USDA FSA office after 29 years of service. She was on the Board of Directors for Camp Chaparral for several years. She volunteered at USSV, Meals on Wheels and other charitable organizations. She was an avid blood donor, and was one pint short of donating thirteen gallons of blood. Faye was an active member of First Baptist Church, the Charity Sunday School Class, the Bus Ministry and WMU. Faye had a true servant's heart.
Faye is survived by children, Lawrence and Beverly Rose of Amarillo, Texas, Mickie and Nick Dilliard of Vernon, Texas and Charlotte and Forrest Doshier of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers, Monroe Latham of Arlington, Texas and Gene and Sharon Latham of Winfield, Kansas, and one sister, Nelda Carson of Ashland City, Tennessee. Faye leaves behind seven grandchildren Cheryl and Darrel Baker; Timothy and Ricky Rose- Shields of Amarillo, Texas; Deana and Michael Jaramillo of Sterling City, Texas; CJ and Kamy Whatley of Groom, Texas; Dara and Derek Kidd of Panhandle, Texas; Samantha Doshier of Lubbock, Texas; Forrest Doshier II of Norman, Oklahoma. She also leaves eight great grandchildren Beverly, Quinton, Gage, Haylee, Deklen, Rachel, Paylin, Levi, and Gus; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Faye is ,also, preceded in death by one grandchild, William Johnson in 1995, and two brothers, Gerald and Joe Latham.
Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 2023, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at First Baptist Church of Vernon, Texas.
Memorials can be made to USSV, Congregant Meals, Camp Chaparral, or a favorite charity.
