Felix Walker
Taylor
Oct 27, 1929 — Sep 16, 2026
Felix Walker Taylor of Crowell, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of Wednesday, September 16th, 2026.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 19,2026 at 11:00am at the Western Trail Cowboy Church with Mr. Mike Varner and Rev. Trey Schur officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilbarger Memorial Park, under the direction of the Sullivan Funeral Home.
Felix was born on October 27th, 1929, in Tarrant County, Texas to Willy Carl and Mary Taylor. He graduated from Benjamin High School when he was 16 years old and was immensely proud of his one year of attendance to Texas A&M University. He later transferred and graduated from Midwestern State University, where he says, "Jean saw a good-looking cowboy" and the rest was history. He was a proud father, grandad, and great-grandad and lived his life helping those around him. He was a 5th generation farmer and worked as Executive Director of Rolling Plains Management Corporation in Crowell for 43 years before retiring in 2012. His former employees remembered him as the boss who would go around to each office every morning to have a meaningful conversation about how they were doing – a notable example of the kind of leader and person he was.
Felix was raised August 9th, 1960, as a Master Mason. He was a proud member of the Vernon Masonic Lodge, Quanah Masonic Lodge, Quanah Chapter and Council, and Crowell Masonic Lodge. For many years, he served as the District Instructional Officer. He was also a proud and active member of Vernon Commandery #33, Red Cross Constantine, Star of Bethlehem, Wichita Falls, TX, Holy Royal Arch Knight Temple Priests #9, Dallas, TX, West Texas York Rite College #36, Lubbock, TX, and Royal Order of Scotland Provincial Grand Lodge, USA.
Felix married the love of his life, Wanda Jean Taylor, on March 19th, 1953. They were blessed with four children – Bill, Bob, Brenda, and Bucky. Everyone who knew Felix knew his favorite titles were dad, grandad, and great grandad. To his children, he was kind but just and raised them to be incredible people. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was the fun, generous, never-say-no softy. For those who loved him, there will never be another who is comparable in his love and generosity, who embodied what it means to be a Christ centered man.
Felix is preceded in death by his parents, Willy Carl and Mary Taylor, brother Walter Carl Taylor, and wife Wanda “Jean” Taylor.
He is survived by his children: Bill Taylor and Donna of Vernon, Bob Taylor and Shauna of Paducah, Brenda Lancaster and Earnest of Mobeetie, and Bucky Taylor and Darla of Crowell; his 8 grandchildren: Jay (Hillary) Taylor, Matt (Kendra) Taylor, Andra (Scott) Park, Drew (Chandi) Taylor, Stormi (Cody) Snider, Larami (Coleman) Preston, Toby Taylor (Shelby Moore), and Sydney (Caleb) Ballard, and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Crowell Masonic Lodge or Western Trail Cowboy Church.
Visitation will be held on Saturday September 19, 2026, at 10:00am at the Western Trail Cowboy Church, prior to service time.
