Obituary

Filemon Hernandez, 78 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 10:00 am at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Father Phil Petta officiating.

Filemon was born Thursday, March 21, 1946, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He was the son of the late Juan Hernandez and the late Narcisa Badillo Hernandez. He was a dedicated worker for Wright Brand Foods/Tyson Foods for over thirty years. He also worked at Santa Rosa Stud Farm. He was always happy and smiling, greeting everyone. Filemon loved buffets, cookouts and gatherings. He also loved the rodeo and loved to sing and play the guitar. He was hard on the outside but very sweet on the inside, just like a prickly pear. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church.

Filemon is survived by three sons, Noah Hernandez & wife Fallon of Vernon, Texas, Joel Hernandez-DeLuna of Mexico and Filemon Hernandez-DeLuna of Mexico; five daughters, Gabriela Hernandez & husband Mario Garcia of Vernon, Texas, Martha Hernandez-DeLuna, Yeini Hernandez-DeLuna, Ana Hernandez-DeLuna and Veronica Hernandez-DeLuna all of Mexico, and three sisters, Maria Hernandez, Rosa Hernandez and Lupita Hernandez. Filemon also leaves behind nine grandchildren, TJ, Aidan, Adam, Amari, Brynlee, Anabella, Milo, Gavin, and Alexia.

Filemon is preceded in death by his parents, Juan & Narcisa Hernandez.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be given to Beyond Faith Hospice .
