Freddie Ray Jones, 81 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Freedie was born Wednesday, February 5, 1941, in Turkey, Texas. He was the son of the late Jessie Jones and the late Maxine Gilmore Jones. He married Carolyn Collins on September 15, 1967 in Turkey, Texas. Freddie retired from BNSF Railroad.  He was in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.  Some of his grandchildren called him "Paw Paw" while the others called him "Pops". Freddie loved to fish.

Freddie is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jones of the home; children, Crystal Abbott of Caddo Mills, Texas, Susie LeAnn Townson & husband Trent of Vernon, Texas, Prisilla Lynette Farinacci & husband Joe of Caddo Mills, Texas, and Randie Shawn Jones & wife Stacy of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Stormy Thomas, Andrew Burns, Maverick Townson, Miranda Morrissey, Allie Spann, Abbie Cox, Marine Lance Corporal Logan Jones, and Tanner Jones; great grandchildren, Ethan Cruz, Navy E3 Conner Nathaniel Burns, Kasidee Burns, Zoie Burns, Tyler Thomas, Emma Thomas, Elexia Townson, Duke Townson, Finn Townson, Chloe Morrissey, Stevie Spann, Scarlett Spann; brother, Jerry Jones & wife Janice Evorie; sister, Linda Jameson & husband Leslie. He also leaves behind his dog, Toby.

Freddie is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ronnie Abbott and brother, Robert Jones.
