George Allen Goins "Papa", 82 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022.

A service will be held at a later date

George was born Wednesday June 21, 1939 in Vernon, Texas to the late Cecil Goins and the late Lillian Mason Goins. George married Linda Cocks on August 18, 1978 in Vernon, Texas until she passed away December 3, 2009. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Bill Goins, his sister in law, Brenda Parker, daughter in law, Kristen Hardison, and son, Greg Goins.

George proudly served in the US Army from 1959-1969. George was a resident of Vernon and Colorado moving back to Vernon in 2008, he was a member of the Church of Christ. He happily worked at Wagner Ranch and retired after working many glorious years as a truck driver for  Willies Grain. He was proud to have been inducted into the 1 million mile club. George was Man of the Year at the Doan's Picnic in 2010.

Papa leaves behind a long legacy of family spanning from Vernon, Texas to Ramstein, Germany. Papa leaves behind a brother, Don Goins, four children, three granddaughters, five grandsons, along with thirteen great grandchildren. He also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless other family and friends. Papa truly never met a stranger.
