George Michael Wilson, 80, of Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:00 am at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Mr. Mark Belyea officiating.

George was born Sunday, July 16, 1944, in Electra, Texas. He was the son of the late Ross Abner Wilson and the late Florence Evelyn Singleton Wilson. He was a member of the U.S. Navy.  He married Dorothy Joan McIntosh. He was in Vietnam, serving as a 2nd Class E-5 from 1961 – 1965. He then worked for the Civil Service as a Maintenance Supervisor on Chase Field Naval Air Station in Beeville, Texas. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

George is survived by his wife, Dorothy Wilson of the home, two sons, Wes Wayne Wilson of Vernon, Texas and Gregory Alan Wilson of Vernon, Texas, two brothers, Larry R. Wilson of Arlington, Virginia and Randy Lee Wilson of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and one sister, Carol Ann Cheek of Chillicothe, Texas.

George is preceded in death by his sisters, Dianna Pearce and Marsh Kay Orms, and his brother, Harvey Wilson.
