Glenn Derrell (Bubba) Kieschnick passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. At the time of Bubba's passing he was a happy resident of the Ussery-Roan Texas Veteran's Home in Amarillo, Texas.

Bubba graduated from Lockett High School in 1963, where he was a Track participant advancing to the Texas State Track meet. He was also a standout starting player on the Lockett Panther football team. He attended East Texas State College in Commerce, Texas majoring in Veterinary Medicine.

Our Bubba joined the U.S. Marine Corps during 1967 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was awarded various medals for dedicated service, and while serving the Corps he received three Purple Hearts for the wounds received while in Vietnam. Bubba saw action in and around the imperial city of Hue, South Vietnam during the infamous battles of Tet 1968, and was honorably discharged as a Sargent during 1969.

Our Bubba was a cowboy all his working life, which included working and doctoring cattle for various Cattle Ranchers and Farmers, in addition to being a licensed auctioneer and cattle buyer for others, and his own cow operations. Glenn also worked at a feedlot in Hereford, Texas and was also a cattle buyer for Van Roach Cattle Company of Fort Worth, Texas.

Glenn was a former member and past president of Vernon's Santa Rosa Palomino Club. Some of his fondest memories involved performing at many rodeos and parades with great friends.

Glenn was born on Monday, September 25, 1944, to Louis Authur and Agnes Gertrude Streit Kieschnick of Rayland, Texas. He is survived by his children, Brian Trent, Ricky Gene, and Brandy Lynn, and by his grandchildren, Morgan, Tanner, Riley, Cade, and Isabella, and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his older sister, Cynthia Ann Burrell of Ojai, California and his younger sister, Linda Sue Cochran and husband Bobby of Vernon, Texas. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Dustin Blaine Kieschnick.

Glenn donated his body to the Texas Tech Willed Body Program at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Institute of Anatomical Sciences for the advancement of education, medical training, and future healing.
