Gloria Jean Richardson, lovingly known as "Speedy," passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 79.

Gloria was born on October 15, 1945, in Williamson County, Texas, and grew up in Vernon, Texas, where she attended Booker T. Washington High School. A dedicated worker and loving soul, she gave her time and talents to several roles throughout her life—working at Woods Nursing Home, teaching at her alma mater Booker T. Washington, and later serving at Wright Brand Foods and as a home health worker.

Gloria was married to the love of her life, the late Jimmy Clifford Richardson, and together they raised a loving family. She was a devoted mother to Charlotte Renae Richardson (deceased), Jimmie Clifford Richardson Jr., Daryl Anthony Richardson, Glenda Darlene Richardson, Phyllis Ann Richardson, Floyd Raymond Richardson, and Derrick Donnell Richardson.

She was a woman of deep faith who always kept God first. Gloria loved reading, writing, music, and dancing, and she found joy in caring for her beloved plants. She was passionate about her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren. Her warm presence could often be found serving on the Usher Board at church, where she took great pride in welcoming others.

She is survived by her children: sons Jimmie Clifford Jr., Daryl Anthony, Floyd Raymond, and Derrick Donnell Richardson; and daughters Glenda Darlene and Phyllis Ann Richardson. She is also survived by her brothers Carl Bradford, Larry Bradford, and Charles Bradford; and sisters Gwendolyn Bellard, Barbann, Mary Jo Fanner, and Phyllis Ann Williams.

She was preceded in death by her mother Verna Bradford, daughter Charlotte Richardson, sisters Lawanda Sue Murray and Lois Finley Bradford, and brothers Jerry Wayne Bradford and Johnny Melvin.

A celebration of Gloria's life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ in Vernon, Texas. Rev. Norris Thomas will be officiating the service.

Gloria's legacy of faith, love, and strength lives on through her family and all those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
