Gwendolyn "Gwen" Kaye Rogers, 72 of Vernon, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, at 11:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Charles Richardson and Rev T.L. Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Gwen was born Monday, November 5, 1951, in Lubbock, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Verner Brown and the late Almeta Courtney Brown. She married L. C. Rogers on April 9, 1984 in Vernon, Texas. She retired as an RN from North Texas State Hospital. Gwen loved people, especially her family. She was the family therapist, always giving good advice. She was the best wife and mother.  She was a great nurse, and she loved to play bingo. Gwen was a devoted Christian. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and Wood Street Baptist Church.

Gwen is survived by her husband, L. C. Rogers of the home; two sons, Tyrone Williams of Vernon, Texas and Maurice Rogers & wife Angela of Lawton, Oklahoma; two daughters, Natasha Michelle Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia and Terri Lavette McCrary of Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Andre Rogers of Lawton, Oklahoma, Xiomara Rogers of Lawton, Oklahoma, Kingston Rogers of Lawton, Oklahoma, Terin Rogers of Vernon, Texas, and Jamal Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, and three sisters, Loretta Anders of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bessie Bradford of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Pam Palama McKinney & husband Bruce of Saginaw, Michigan. Gwen also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, Verner & Almeta Brown; one son, Alexander Shaft Williams; three brothers, Verner Brown, Jr., Duane Brown and Mark Brown, and one sister, Debra Brown.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
