Hazel Marie Burleson, 90 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 am at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Robert Holaday officiating.

Hazel was born Sunday, July 22, 1934, in Rayland, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Jobe and the late Elsie Moerbe Jobe. She married Charles Burleson on November 8, 1958, in Vernon, Texas. She was a graduate of Northside High School, and she was an excellent basketball player. She retired as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone, and she also volunteered for the Vernon State Hospital. Hazel had a passion for gardening, and she loved irises. She also did paintings for her family members. She was member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Charles Burleson of the home and four sisters, Janet Harbison of Plano, Texas, Patsy Malone of Vernon, Texas, Margie Perkins of Farmers Valley, Texas and Vickie Hennessee of Vernon, Texas. Hazel also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews

Hazel is preceded in death by her brother, Jessie Jobe and her sister, Trecia Jacob.

Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorial may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
