Isabel Duque Hernandez, 89 of Childress, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in Childress, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, at 10:00 am at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Father Phil Petta officiating.

Isabel was born Sunday, July 8, 1934 in Palau Coahuila, Mexico. He was the son of the late Santos Hernandez and the late Stephanie Duque Hernandez. He married Manuela Arroyo September 2, 1954 in Crookston, Minnesota. Manuela passed away June 22, 1999. Isabel served in the U.S. Army out of Fort Hood, Texas. He owned and operated Hernandez Trim Shop from 1960 until 2011. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he was Catholic.

Isabel is survived by three sons, Arthur Hernandez & wife Magdalena of Hemet, California, Robert Hernandez & wife Suzannah of Vernon, Texas, and Daniel Hernandez & wife Sandra of Childress, Texas; one daughter, Sylvia Hernandez of Vernon, Texas, and three sisters, Mary Gonzales, Janie Torrez, and Mona Hernandez, all of Temple, Texas. Isabel also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Isabel is preceded in death by his son, David Hernandez and by his grandson, Christopher Hernandez.
